Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber barons cruelty may sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those [who] torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. — C. S. Lewis

Welcome to my personal web page and landing page of all the projects I think deserve a web presence. Here you can find most of the useful things that I work on. I encourage you to check out the FTP server associated with this server; it is the medium by which I serve up the files and archival elements of my site. Of interest in archiving and serving up files, I have written a gopher server Goscher, the Scheme Gopher Server.

My latest fascination takes me to the realm of parallel programming languages, and especially in Scheme and APL. I believe strongly in the literate style of programming as a means of improving developer productivity and future proofing of code, as well as just making programming more enjoyable. For writing literate programs in Scheme I have written ChezWEB.

All you really need to know about me is that if computers were not around, I would be a philosopher of some kind. I love to think, and I love to reason analytically about all sorts of problems. In addition to this, I enjoy physical activities that require mental exertion. I am a strongly founded Christian and believe strongly that Jesus Christ is the only true way to salvation. I hold strong conservative, constitutional views of Government, maintaining that government's sole and only purpose is to Prevent injustice against one of its citizens.

I married the Jewel of my heart on July 6th, 2008.

The one virtue to which I aspire above others is magnanimity.
