You have reached the personal web site of Aaron Hsu. You will find some of my projects, information about me, and some media. I am an experienced programmer/designer who is currently pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science. I have been programming professionally for around 5 years, with three years of hobby work before that. My interests in technology extend to clean, proper works which are elegant and beautiful. My aims are to solve complex problems with elegance and simplicity, and my designs follow this same approach. I seek to reduce and abstract, rather than to specify and complicate.
I work mostly in the UNIX field, developing on UNIX-based systems, such as OpenBSD, Linux, and Mac OS X.
I also have a very strong interest in education, and take every opportunity that I have to teach and to educate in a manner which fosters true improvement of the mind, rather than mindless memorization of propaganda or intended responses. I am a highly conservative person, both politically, and in most other ways. I absolutely believe in Jesus Christ and the Scriptures, and would consider myself to be traditionally conservative Christian, though some of my theology is far from orthodox.
When designing and programming for other people, I pay special attention to compatibility with the grand empire of Microsoft. However, in my personal pages, I do not pay attention to this at all, and I am unconcerned with the way my pages render in Internet Explorer.
Please take note that I develop my personal pages using XHTML 1.1 Strict, and CSS 2. This means that my servers will send a mime-type of application/xhtml+xml, which, to my current knowledge is not supported on Internet Explorer. I create this page using XHTML 1.0 Strict and send the page using a compatibility mode in the XHTML 1.0 Standard, so that most browsers will see this page. However, if you use Internect Explorer Version 7 or less, you will likely find that any other page will not display for you.
As an alternative, please try one of the many other browsers that are compatible with the XHTML 1.1 standard. I recommend Opera.
