Sacrificum Deo

You have reached the personal web site of Aaron Hsu. You will find some of my projects, information about me, and some media. I am an experienced programmer/designer who is currently pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science. I have been programming professionally for around 5 years, with three years of hobby work before that. My interests in technology extend to clean, proper works which are elegant and beautiful. My aims are to solve complex problems with elegance and simplicity, and my designs follow this same approach. I seek to reduce and abstract, rather than to specify and complicate.

I work mostly in the UNIX field, developing on UNIX-based systems, such as OpenBSD, Linux, and Mac OS X.

I also have a very strong interest in education, and take every opportunity that I have to teach and to educate in a manner which fosters true improvement of the mind, rather than mindless memorization of propaganda or intended responses. I am a highly conservative person, both politically, and in most other ways. I absolutely believe in Jesus Christ and the Scriptures, and would consider myself to be traditionally conservative Christian, though some of my theology is far from orthodox.

Attention: there is a new location for “Celebrate Jonathan,” the collaborative movie made in love and honor of my late brother.

Welcome

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those [who] torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

— C. S. Lewis
